MEYIWA’S DAD MIGHT NOT GET A PENNY

Grieving Senzo Meyiwa’s father, Sam, might not get a cent of the R5 million in life insurance pay-out money, which is said to be contained in a PSL account, if the former Bafana Bafana captain never had a will.
This was revealed by advocate Sifiso Sithole, whose firm handles deceased estates, in a report by the Daily Sun on Wednesday. If Senzo never made a will, in terms of the Estates Act, the money will go to the mothers of his children and not to Meyiwa senior, said Sithole.

“The only time the senior Meyiwa can access his son’s money is if he was nominated in a will…the parents of the deceased do not qualify for any payout unless it is specified in a will Sithole said Kelly Khumalo and Mandisa Mkhize, the mothers of Senzo’s two children, will be made the legal guardians of their kids. He said the mothers will get a monthly grant for the upkeep of the children.

“The kids will get the balance of the money when they turn 21,” said Sithole. Jabu Buthelezi, Meyiwa’s family spokeswoman, refused to say whether Senzo left a will or not.
