Saints reign supreme

HARARE - St George's College boys hockey team are currently enjoying a good season on the Northern Region A League where they have only been beaten once in 10 matches.

The Saints lead the Northern Region A League standings with 23 points from 10 matches from which they have won seven, drawn twice and lost once.

Their forwards have been a menace in front of goal, plundering 22 goals whilst their mean defence have only conceded seven goals.

Eaglesvale are in hot pursuit of the Saints as they currently occupy second place on the log with 20 points from nine matches.

They have lost once, drawn twice and won six matches.

In third place is Peterhouse, who have so far amassed 19 points from nine matches whilst St John’s College occupy fourth place on 14 points from the seven matches they have played so far.

Churchill High School are in fifth place on 13 points from the nine matches they have played so far.

Elsewhere, Gateway High School have been struggling for consistency this season and find themselves bottom of the 15-team log standings

They have collected a paltry two points from eight matches played so far.

Results: Peterhouse 1-2 Eaglesvale, Hellenic 0-1 Churchill, Gateway 2-2 Westridge.
