HARARE - Auditions for the second edition of Zimbabwe Has Talent will commence on July 24 in Harare.
The talent show, being run by the Chinese Federation in Zimbabwe, will go beyond the capital city this year.
“Last season, being the maiden season, Zimbabwe Has Talent was on a trial run and was composed of Harare participants only.
“After last year’s achievements, the Chinese Federation has raised the stakes and decided to go countrywide with its search for the 2015 Dream Star of Zimbabwe,” said Rumbidzai Matinanga, a representative for Zimbabwe Has Talent.
“Following the huge success of the first edition of Zimbabwe Has Talent 2014, the Chinese Federation has decided to continue this noble cause of promoting local, young and unknown talent to help them achieve their dreams of being superstars.”
Last year’s top three winners were Devine Chitubura, Devante and The Incredibles.
Apart from prize money, the three winners were supposed to travel to China but the trip has not materialised yet.
Matinanga, told the Daily News that the promised trip to China would be fulfilled.
“They have not yet visited China but they will go in September for the cultural exchange programme,” said Matinanga.
“In fact we have pledged to promote the top 10 artists that took part in the talent show, making sure that they get as much exposure as they need.”
Zivanai Zhou, the vice chairman of the Chinese Federation, said last year’s winners were already preparing for the cultural exchange visit in China.
“Zimbabwe Has talent has been getting gigs for the artists to prepare them for their cultural exchange tour to China which is of course their maiden international exposure,” said Zhou.
