Announced on Friday, the initiative seeks 25 dynamic Zimbabwean youths aged 18 to 30 from both urban and rural communities, including young people with disabilities, to serve as volunteer advisors to the EU. The board will run for two years and aims to ensure that young voices meaningfully contribute to key areas such as climate-smart agriculture, green economic growth, human rights, and women’s empowerment.
According to the EU Delegation, the YSB will bring together a diverse cross-section of Zimbabwe’s youth to provide insights that reflect local realities and priorities. Members will advise on programmes, monitor youth-related projects, and engage in dialogue with policymakers and development partners.
While participation in the board is voluntary, the EU emphasised that members will receive full expense coverage and gain valuable experience, exposure, and opportunities to network within the broader Team Europe framework.
Applications are open until 17 November 2025, and can be submitted online, via WhatsApp, email, or in person, ensuring accessibility for all interested youth across the country.
For more information and application details, candidates can visit the EU Delegation to Zimbabwe’s official website or contact the organisers through the listed communication channels.
The EU described the initiative as “a powerful step towards inclusive, youth-driven development,” giving Zimbabwe’s young generation a platform to influence policies, share ideas, and help shape a brighter, more sustainable future.
