MEMBERS of Zanu PF Harare Province convened their first and successful Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting after the revolutionary party’s 2025 Annual National People’s Conference in Mutare.

Harare provincial chairman Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa presided over the meeting which reaffirmed its commitment to support key resolutions from the conference.

The major highlight of this first post-Zanu PF annual conference meeting was the formal introduction and warm welcome extended to prominent businessman Cde Kudakwashe Tagwirei,  following his appointment as a senior member of the province in the Central Committee.

His first attendance and meeting with the Zanu PF Harare Provincial leadership ushered in a new era that seeks to strengthen and unify the Zanu PF Harare leadership structure.

At the meeting, the supporters also reaffirmed their allegiance to President Mnangagwa and his vision to advance the party’s vision and mantra: “Leaving No One and No Place Behind.” Businessman Tagwirei reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the party and President Mnangagwa’s empowerment initiatives to ensure they benefit people at grassroots levels. In March this year, Zanu PF’s Harare province unanimously recommended Tagwirei for co-option into the Central Committee, a recommendation that was officially ratified in October 2025.

Tagwirei who was introduced to the Harare Provincial Coordinating Committee expressed gratitude to President Mnangagwa and the party leadership as well as to Harare province for their support. “I am a servant of the people and will work tirelessly to drive empowerment programmes to the grassroots,” he said. He emphasised his experience working for the party at the lower structures and pledged to ensure that the party’s programmes reach everyone.

“I am committed to driving President Mnangagwa’s vision and realising his dreams. As a dedicated servant of the revolutionary party, I will deliver as expected. I will continue supporting party programmes even at village level,” he added.

Tagwirei is well-known for his philanthropic work to support vulnerable communities as well as for his contributions to the party and government in fulfilling its policies. The prominent businessman said he was eager to ensure empowerment programmes benefit everyone. “We want to take economic empowerment to the remotest parts of the country,” he said. Cde Takawira Mashonganyika of Highfields was also co-opted into the Central Committee. Zanu PF Harare provincial chairman Cde Masimirembwa praised Tagwirei as an active member of the party in Zone Four highlighting his role as a champion of empowerment and a “sanction buster.”

“Cde Tagwirei worked for the party at lower structures for years and is very loyal to the party despite his standing as a successful businessman. We are going to learn from him to ensure everyone is empowered,” he said. Cde Masimirembwa highlighted that the province will give conference feedback to the party structures. He said Resolution number 1 which states that President Mnangagwa should remain in office until 2030 was one of the topical issues at the conference in Mutare. He stated that the party’s Secretary for Legal Affairs Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi was tasked to implement the resolution before the next conference.

“The conference also focused on the state of the economy and food security at household level. We have a number of signature projects being carried across the country and some were completed. This is the good work of President Mnangagwa so members are saying President Mnangagwa should remain in office beyond 2028 to realise his vision,” said Cde Masimirembwa. Zanu PF Deputy Secretary for Security Cde Tendai Chirau urged party members to support President Mnangagwa’s vision under the mantra leaving No One and No Place Behind. “Let us be active participants in the economic drive to realise Vision 2030,” he said. The PCC meeting was attended by Politburo members Central Committee members National Consultative Assembly members provincial members among others.
