Zimbabwe’s beauty queens in partnership with StarBrite and Nyaradzo Group brought smiles, hope and festive cheers to children and their caregivers during a Christmas outreach that went beyond glamour, highlighting the power of compassion, recognition and community support.
StarBrite executive director, Barney Mupariwa, said that they are much honoured to have put smiles on the children.
“This is a great feeling. Doing this again and again,” he said. “To all our partners, to all our sponsors, we’re grateful to you for helping us make it a mission successful.”
The event brought together Miss International Africa, Miss Intercontinental 2025, former Miss International and Miss Teen Zimbabwe, who spent time interacting with children and their mothers, offering words of encouragement and reminding them that they are valued members of society.
Miss International Africa 2025, Yollanda Kambarami said the visit was centred on spreading love and restoring hope during the festive season.
“When you go out this Christmas, just spread the love. Show them that no matter their condition, no matter what they are going through, they are going to get well soon. That is the message we are trying to pass, a message of love and hope,” she said.
Miss Intercontinental 2025, Rumbidzai Muzopa echoed the same sentiments, emphasising the importance of family and presence during Christmas.
“I think this time we got the opportunity to talk about love. We don’t know what families out there are doing, but by being here, we are representing family. Just being with them and seeing them is already a sign of love,” she said.
Former Miss International Charlotte Muziri, said the outreach resonated deeply with her passion for working with children.
“I usually do work with kids, so this is my area, and I’m really happy to get the chance to come and spread cheer and show love to these young angels,” she said.
“They all deserve to feel that we still see them, that they matter, and that they deserve our love and support. I just want to say Merry Christmas. We have got this.”
Miss Teen Zimbabwe Tungamirai Julie described the visit as emotionally fulfilling and meaningful.
“As an advocate, this means everything to me. I wanted to make this moment special because spreading love makes one feel good,” she said.
Addressing the children, she added: “You are enough, you are worthy, and you deserve a seat at the table. You are not alone. You matter. You are part of us, and we are part of you.”
Beyond the queens’ messages, the voices of mothers and children added a powerful human dimension to the outreach, expressing gratitude for being remembered and recognised.
One mother said the visit had lifted their spirits.
“We are honoured and we are happy. We are happy that we have been recognised. We want to thank the Nyaradzo Group, Starbrite, and everyone who contributed to this. You honoured us,” she said.
Another mother echoed similar sentiments, saying the recognition meant more than material gifts.
“We feel seen and appreciated. This has brought joy to our children and hope to us as parents. We are truly grateful to everyone who made this possible,” she said.
The children also shared their excitement and appreciation. One young beneficiary said the visit made the day special.
“I am happy to receive this, and I am happy that I have been recognised. Thank you to everyone who came to see us,” the child said.
Another child, said, “I am very happy today. Thank you to the people who gave us gifts and came to celebrate Christmas with us.”
Another child summed up the day simply but powerfully, “Thank you for remembering us. I am happy.”
The organisers, including Nyaradzo Group and Starbrite, were praised for bringing together partners, beauty queens and the community to create a memorable festive experience.
As Zimbabwe celebrates Christmas, the outreach stood as a reminder that true celebration lies in sharing love, recognising others and standing together. For the mothers and children who felt seen and valued, the visit was more than a festive gesture it was a powerful affirmation that they matter.
