A 43-year-old man from Glaudina in Harare has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on armed robbery charges linked to a US$22 000 heist at Honey Pot Maheu.

Tonderai Muzira is alleged to have committed the offence on May 19, 2025, alongside accomplices who were reportedly armed with pistols, iron bars, and hammers.

Court documents state that the gang targeted the company’s premises, where they allegedly overpowered security personnel before forcing employees to move to a workshop area.

The suspects are further alleged to have broken into the accounts office, blasted open a cash safe, and stole US$22 108 before fleeing the scene in a getaway vehicle.

Police say detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department later received information linking Muzira to the robbery, resulting in his arrest.

The court denied him bail, and he has since been remanded in custody while investigations continue.
