Florida, United States — American rapper Lil Tjay was arrested on Monday night following an altercation outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where fellow rapper Offset sustained a gunshot wound.
Authorities confirmed that the 24-year-old artist was taken into custody and booked at Broward County Jail on a misdemeanour charge of disorderly conduct (affray). He was later released on a $500 bond.
According to police reports, the incident occurred during an evening disturbance near the casino premises, shortly before Offset was shot in the leg. Emergency responders transported the rapper to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
Law enforcement officials stated that a second individual was detained at the scene, although no additional charges have been confirmed. Investigations into the circumstances leading to the shooting remain ongoing.
The Seminole Police Department indicated that the situation was swiftly contained and that normal operations at the casino resumed shortly thereafter, with no continuing threat to public safety.
In a statement issued shortly after the arrest, Lil Tjay’s legal representatives denied any involvement in the shooting itself, distancing the artist from the act of violence.
The incident comes amid a long-running public dispute between Lil Tjay and Offset, reportedly centred on an alleged gambling debt. In recent months, Lil Tjay had accused Offset of owing him $10,000, claims he reiterated across social media platforms and during a livestream earlier this year.
The online feud had intensified since January, with Lil Tjay making repeated allegations regarding Offset’s financial situation and gambling habits. While authorities have not established any direct link between the dispute and Monday’s events, the prior tensions have drawn significant public attention in the aftermath of the shooting.
Notably, Lil Tjay himself survived a high-profile shooting in 2022, during which he sustained multiple gunshot wounds in what was reported as an attempted robbery.
Police have not yet released further details as investigations continue.
