AS Zimbabwe intensifies efforts to harness Diaspora investment and digital financial inclusion, chief executive officer of TN CyberTech Bank, Tawanda Nyambirai, is expected to headline the upcoming South Africa-Zimbabwe Business Summit, Property Expo and Awards Night in Johannesburg later this month.
The two-day summit, organised by Zimbabweans in Diaspora Organisation (ZIDO), is expected to attract more than 50 exhibitors, investors, property developers, financial institutions and entrepreneurs from Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Organisers say Mr Nyambirai’s participation gives added significance to discussions around Diaspora financing, digital banking and cross-border investment opportunities at a time when Zimbabweans living abroad are increasingly seeking structured investment channels back home.
Through TN CyberTech Bank, Mr Nyambirai has been associated with the growing shift towards technology-driven banking solutions, which analysts say are becoming increasingly important in facilitating diaspora remittances, property transactions and regional trade.
ZIDO chairman Blessed Kapesa said the summit would provide a strategic platform for strengthening economic relations between Zimbabwe and its diaspora community.
“The participation of Mr Nyambirai and TN CyberTech Bank reflects the growing importance of innovation in banking and investment facilitation within the diaspora space,” said Mr Kapesa.
“As Zimbabweans in South Africa and across the region continue to explore investment opportunities back home, there is increasing need for trusted financial institutions that can provide secure, modern and accessible banking solutions.”
Mr Kapesa said the summit was expected to stimulate dialogue around property investment, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.
“This is not merely a networking event, but a platform aimed at building practical business linkages between Zimbabweans in the diaspora and institutions operating locally.
The property expo and business engagements are expected to unlock new partnerships and investment opportunities,” he said.
The awards night, he said, would also celebrate Zimbabwean excellence in business and enterprise development within the Diaspora community.
Economic commentators say the summit comes at a time when Diaspora remittances continue to play a critical role in supporting household incomes, infrastructure development and broader economic activity in Zimbabwe.
The event will feature panel discussions on banking, property development, entrepreneurship and regional economic integration, with business leaders expected to share insights on leveraging technology and innovation to drive investment between Zimbabwe and South Africa.
