Ward 17 Mt Pleasant Councillor Happymore Gotora says some Sentosa residents should expect water today following engagements with contractors carrying out a major pipe replacement project in partnership with the City of Harare.
The ongoing infrastructure upgrade, being undertaken by Helcraw Water and the City of Harare, is currently affecting water supplies in Sentosa, Mabelreign and Greencroft.
In a statement, Cllr Gotora said pipe replacement is still ongoing and acknowledged the disruptions caused by the works.
He said efforts were being made to restore water supplies in completed sections while construction continues in other areas.
“We have requested them to open in areas they have finished. As a result, some parts of Sentosa should be receiving water today, while other sections remain affected by the ongoing works,” he said.
The pipe replacement project forms part of broader efforts to rehabilitate ageing water infrastructure and improve water delivery services in Harare.
Residents in affected areas have been urged to remain patient as contractors work to complete the project and restore normal water supplies.
