OK Zimbabwe Ltd has begun a comprehensive restocking exercise after securing financial guarantees from two major local banking institutions.
The bank guarantees have unlocked critical credit facilities, restored supplier confidence and enabled key manufacturers—including Dairibord, ZimGold, Olivine, National Foods and Nestlé—to resume deliveries and reclaim shelf space.
Alongside the inventory recovery, the retailer has begun reopening branches that were closed during the height of its cash-flow crisis, aiming to rebuild footfall and restore its commercial footprint.
The turnaround drive follows an agreement with major trade creditors to defer legacy debt settlements, providing liquidity and operational headroom to resume trading.
Corporate Rescue Practitioner, Mr Bulisa Mbano, confirmed that these debt standstills have created the necessary breathing room to jump-start store operations. While acknowledging that operations are still in their early stages, management remains optimistic about stabilising the business.
