BUSINESS is a crucial partner in growing the economy and Government will continue to support entrepreneurship at every level, Vice President Kembo Mohadi has said.
VP Mohadi, who was represented by Permanent Secretary in his Office Dr Benson Martins Dube at the Sundrive Summit Business Awards in Beitbridge on Friday, emphasised the importance of collaboration between Government and the private sector.
“Let’s continue to build bridges across sectors to build businesses that transform communities to drive inclusive growth that strengthens our nation,” said VP Mohadi.
“That is how we will achieve Vision 2030 — a prosperous and empowered upper middle-income economy — leaving no one and no place behind.”
Sundrive Summit is a platform for fostering growth, innovation and collaboration.
The Government, VP Mohadi said, shall continue supporting upcoming and existing entrepreneurs, urging businesses to take advantage of opportunities and contribute to Zimbabwe’s economic growth.
“This summit embodies a truth that lies at the heart of the Government’s vision: that success of any Government is not in itself, but in its people. We are here today because we believe in you, the businesspeople of Zimbabwe. You are job creators, the innovators, the risk takers and the dreamers,” he said.
“My presence here is a clear message that the Second Republic fully supports entrepreneurship at every level, from small to medium enterprises to captains of industry steering large investments.
“You are the custodians of a prosperous Zimbabwe and your role in shaping our economy cannot be overstated.
“Let me emphasise that Zimbabwe is open for business and do not take where you are today as your rooftop. It is your foundation for even greater achievements. Keep aiming higher and keep innovating.”
The event showcased Beitbridge and Matabeleland South province’s potential as a hub for business and investment.
