Chiredzi Town Secretary Mr Wesley Kauma has died. Mr Kauma(49) died early this morning at St Anne’s Hospital in Harare, having been ill for some time.
Chiredzi district development coordinator Mr Lovemore Chisema confirmed Mr Kauma’s death.
“He(Kauma) has passed on, and he was ill for a very long time and was on sick leave to seek medical attention until his untimely death.”
Mr Kauma initially served as director of Engineering Services at Chiredzi Town Council before assuming the Town Secretary post in 2024.
He took over from Charles Muchatukwa, who passed away in 2023.
Mr Kauma is credited for transforming Chiredzi Town towards becoming a modern urban settlement anchored on the sugar industry.
