ZIMBABWE’S drive to industrialise and empower communities recorded significant progress last year, with multiple projects being rolled out by Boys Dzamdara to boost employment, technical skills, and local production capacity.
The initiatives, ranging from machinery acquisition to agricultural ventures, reflect a broader national strategy aligned with Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).
The empowerment youth lobby group is emphasising production, innovation to ensure that communities benefit from tangible development outcomes.
Speaking to Zimpapers, Boys Dzamdara national director Cde Kuziva Nyamuchengwa emphasised substantial employment funds received and successfully utilised to complete projects.
“This year, we received 60 000 employment funds for projects that we have so far completed,” he said.
“It was a good year for us, and I want to thank His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa for supporting us throughout the year.”
He emphasised that provinces such as Harare, Masvingo and Manicaland benefited from new equipment to strengthen production and create jobs.
“Firstly, we have a pig project that we did in Harare, and it is already running. In Masvingo, we bought sewing machines for the province, while in Manicaland we purchased a fence-making machine, which is producing large amounts of fencing material.”
Cde Nyamuchengwa said the rollout of similar machinery in Mashonaland West was a major boost for rural employment and technical development.
“In Mashonaland West, we also managed to secure a fence machine again, which is similar to Manicaland,” he said.
“Such machines have a great impact on our nation, our rural communities, and our provinces.”
He said poultry farming was introduced to diversify livelihoods, with thousands of chickens distributed across provinces.
“We managed to receive 5 000 chickens from the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, which we distributed to different provinces,” he said.
“These roadrunners will produce eggs, which we will hatch and distribute again to districts so that everyone can benefit.”
Cde Nyamuchengwa emphasised that a forward-looking strategy is already in place, aligning with NDS2 and entrepreneurship goals.
“We have major projects coming ahead in 2026, and we managed to do our strategy plan in Kariba,” said Cde Nyamuchengwa.
“Those points are aligned to NDS2 that emphasise acceleration of job creation, youth empowerment and entrepreneurs.”
He said they have a factory that is producing clothing and regalia, emphasising industrialisation and self-reliance.

“Here at national, we have a factory that is running, which will produce clothing. So far, we are moving nicely, thanks to the President of Zimbabwe Cde ED Mnangagwa and our national chairman of Boys dzaMdara, Cde Hopewell Chako, for allowing us to do such projects,” he said.
