MT DARWIN – Panzvimbo Lodges, a hospitality property owned by Sarah Kasukuwere, sister to former ZANU PF National Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere, was reduced to ashes last night after a suspected arson attack.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of unidentified assailants stormed the premises before setting the lodges ablaze. Security guards on duty were reportedly overpowered and severely assaulted by the attackers before the facility was torched.
Local authorities and emergency services arrived at the scene after the inferno had already destroyed most of the property. No arrests had been made at the time of publication.

In a separate but possibly related incident, Kudakwashe Ndavara, a former National Youth Service member, reported that his wife was abducted by unknown individuals, who allegedly assaulted her and subjected her to severe physical abuse. Ndavara recently appeared at a press conference in which he and other youth activists publicly denounced a political figure known as Zvigananda.
Police in Mt Darwin say investigations are underway to establish the motives behind both attacks and whether they are politically linked.
The incidents come amid heightened political tensions in Mashonaland Central, where several cases of violence and intimidation have recently been reported ahead of expected internal ZANU PF realignments.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm while investigations continue.
