THE National Building Society (NBS) is targeting to bring over 600 units into the national housing pool this year, as part of its efforts to contribute to affordable housing delivery.
This development comes as the Society has lined up various projects for execution across the country this year, projecting over $44 million in profit.
Speaking soon after signing a performance contract in Harare on Monday, NBS board chairman Mr Shingai Mutumbwa, said: “”Now for 2025, NBS intends to bring into the national housing pool 600 units broken down as follows: 64 units in Glaudina, 300 units in Rangemore (Bulawayo), 153 units in New Mara (Mutare), and 280 stands in Plumtree (Matabeleland South).”
He said the Society was expecting to continue riding on the momentum of last year’s success.
“We also aim to attain US$44 million in profit for the full year of 2025. We want to achieve US$29,8 million in revenues and an employee satisfaction ratio of 75 percent,” Mr Mutumbwa said.
“Our intention is to grow capital to US$28,7 million and achieve a balance sheet size of US$130,3 million.
This is in addition to a value preservation to protect pensioners’ and depositors’ funds. On the customer count, Mr Mutumbwa said the society intends to increase customers or account holders to 80 000.
