APOSTLE Alistar Chibanda has issued a public apology to Doek and Slay management for cyber bullying and making derogatory remarks about the women attending the event.

The mega all-women’s parties was held last week and attracted thousands of women from across the country at the Glamis Arena in Harare.

Chibanda expressed shame over his behaviour and vowed to learn from the mistake, promising more responsible engagement going forward.

In a statement, Chibanda acknowledged his actions were wrong, disrespectful, and completely unjustified saying he understands Doek & uplifts, empowers, and celebrates women.

“I would like to unreservedly apologise for my actions in relation to the Doek & Slay event, particularly for engaging in cyber bullying and for making derogatory and hurtful statements about women who attend the event.

“My words and conduct were wrong, disrespectful, and completely unjustified.

“There is no excuse for cyber bullying or for language that demeans or disrespects women.

“Upon reflection, I recognise that my behaviour did not reflect integrity, maturity, or empathy. I am truly ashamed of the impact my words may have had.”

After the Mega edition, different videos circulated on social media and attracted a number of negative comments from men specifically.

Apostle Chibanda was one of them who turned the whole situation into a biblical story.

He shared different posts on his Facebook page insulting and questioning women’s behaviour.

He said Doek & Slay was a “wild party” attended by women who lack respect, morals, and manners, and who behave indecently.

“Hakuna wife material inoenda ku Doek & Slay parties. Kunoendwa nenzenza, zvipfeve nezvidhakwa chete! Ndatopedza nemi,” he said this days after the Mega edition.

The Doek and Slay management said they are committed to protecting its name and patrons.

“Any attempts to misrepresent, defame, or unlawfully exploit our brand will not be taken lightly,

“The matter was reported to authorities and is under investigation.”
