A new clinic is set to be constructed in Ntunungwe village, Bulilima District, Matabeleland South province, marking a significant development in improving healthcare access for the local community.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held last Sunday at the clinic site and coincided with a tree planting exercise.
The clinic is being built by the local community, the Disapora with assistance from the local legislator Cde Dingumuzi Phuti.

Cde Phuti led the groundbreaking ceremony where he pledged 50 bags of cement towards the start of the construction.
A fundraising ceremony was also initiated where a number of people pledged cement too with the total amounting to 193 200 bags of cement are needed to complete the construction of a clinic from start to slab level.

Among those that pledged are Zanu PF Politburo member Cde Richard Ndlovu (25), Zanu PF Matabeleland South Provincial Chairman Cde Nqobizitha Ndlovu (51), Zanu PF Central Committee member Cde Ntombiyakhe Ndlovu (25) and Zanu PF Bulilima DCC members (22) who were led by their chairman Cde Felix Ncube.
Businesspersons Mr Lavida Ginger Moyo pledged 10 bags of cement same as Mr Mkhulunyelwa Nkomo of Mainline Butchery.

The community has sourced bricks and cement and they will provide labour.
Cde Phuti said the building of the clinic will help address the health problems that the community has been faced with for years.
“The groundbreaking ceremony served as a way to try and mobilise support for construction of a clinic in Ntunungwe area as they don’t have health facilities.
“The support rendered by those in attendance will go a long way in providing healthcare services in the area,” said Cde Phuti.
