HOLLYWOOD, Florida — Rapper Offset has been discharged from hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds during a violent altercation outside a casino, as legal and financial concerns continue to mount around the artist.
According to a report by AllHipHop, the former Migos member walked out of Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, on Thursday after receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the April 6 shooting.
His team confirmed his release, stating that he is “up and walking” and expressed gratitude to medical staff for their care. “He’s incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses, and the entire hospital staff who took such great care of him,” a spokesperson said.
Offset also addressed fans directly via social media, signalling a shift in focus following the incident. “Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love. I’m good, but I’m planning to be better. I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to the music,” he wrote, adding, “Life’s a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”
The shooting occurred outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, where tensions reportedly escalated between Offset and fellow rapper Lil Tjay. The dispute is said to stem from an ongoing feud linked to alleged gambling debts dating back to 2025.
Lil Tjay was arrested in connection with the incident and later released on bail. Upon his release, he publicly criticised Offset, further intensifying the dispute.
The incident has also drawn attention to broader financial pressures facing the rapper. Reports indicate that Offset lost close to $900,000 through gambling prior to the shooting. In a separate matter, the MotorCity Casino Hotel has filed a lawsuit seeking $100,000 in unpaid gambling debt from March 2024, alleging breach of contract and fraud.
The casino claims Offset obtained a line of credit to continue gambling but failed to settle the outstanding balance. His legal team is reportedly working to address the dispute while he recovers and refocuses on his music career.
The Florida shooting, combined with ongoing legal battles and financial obligations, underscores a turbulent period for the artist. While his discharge from hospital marks a positive step in his recovery, questions remain over his ability to stabilise both his personal and professional circumstances in the months ahead.
