PETER Ndlovu is set to become the highest profile transfer of this window when he joins Scottland as manager.

Peter Ndlovu was Mamelodi Sundowns manager until two years ago when he was assigned a new post which never really became public.

The former Zimbabwe international, who played for his country at Under-20, Under-23 and senior level, was as of last night set to seal a move to the 2025 Castle Lager Premiership champions.

Should the move succeed, it would be a big nod for the Rodwell Thabe shepherded Premier Soccer League. Last year, Scottland created a big buzz by signing big names who included Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona.

The team went on to make history by becoming the first team in 41 years to win the championship on its debut season. The record had been held by Black Rhinos who won the title in their first season in 1984.

Ndlovu was seen in the streets of Harare yesterday and the rumour mill was forced into full throttle with indications being that he is in Harare to seal the deal after three months of such football gossip that could have seen the local game benefit in his return together with Benjani Mwaruwari to the local game.

Sources close to the deal indicated that Ndlovu, who was gifted a R2,6 million BMW by Wicknell Chivayo last year is in Zimbabwe to seal the deal that would make him the highest earning technical bench member in the country with a signing-on fee that has a house and expensive car as part of the package that could see him being the highest paid football personality in the country.
Chivayo is one of Scottland FC’s backers.

The former Highlanders and Black Mambas player who blossomed while playing for Coventry in the UK in the early 1990s, said Scottland were convinced that Ndlovu carries the requisite profile that fits into their dreams.

Tawanda Chidzidzi, who is now the club vice-chairman was previously the manager.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sports Hub, club secretary general Fortune Bgwoni, said they would unveil Ndlovu once all the processes are completed.

“When that happens, we will let the world know,” said Bgwoni.
Ndlovu has managed Sundowns to a continental title.

Meanwhile Eswatini News reports that Kwakhe “Stopper” Thwala joined Scottland this week.
