RAINBOW Tourism Group says the recent US$5,2 million refurbishment of its Rainbow Towers Hotel and Harare International Convention Centre has elevated the facilities’ standing in the country’s hospitality matrix.
These refurbishments are part of RTG’s US$26 million capital investment programme over the past five years aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency, and international appeal across all its properties.
RTG refurbished its flagship facility in a decisive move to reposition the group as a competitive destination for world-class, high-standard stays and conferencing for guests.
As part of the refurbishment, three floors were redesigned to create six premium suites, bringing to 10 suites in total, each tailored for high-profile delegations and executive guests.
Each suite includes two en-suite bedrooms, a luxury lounge, a private dining area, a lustrous kitchenette, and a guest bathroom, offering the exclusivity and privacy required by discerning clientele.
The group also refurbished an additional 48 guest rooms, blending soft neutral tones and Zimbabwean artistry to create a serene atmosphere for both business and leisure travellers.
According to RTG chief executive Tendai Madziwanyika, the revamped Rainbow Towers Hotel is now witnessing significantly improved occupancy rates and is optimistic about its future success as well as Zimbabwe’s potential as a top conference destination.
“The refashioning of the Rainbow Towers Hotel & Conference Centre has breathed new life into the hotel. It offers timeless comfort with a modern twist.
“We have seen the positive impact of this investment as occupancy has grown considerably.
“We are optimistic about the future performance of this hotel, positioning Zimbabwe as a premier destination for regional and international meetings and conferences,” said Mr Madziwanyika.
The extensive upgrade has transformed Rainbow Towers Hotel and reaffirms the group’s commitment to world-class standards, setting a new benchmark for hospitality and conferencing excellence in the region.
HICC is the largest conference venue in Zimbabwe and continues to stand as the nation’s gateway to the world, where high-profile and milestone events take place.
It is also the largest Colosseum-style venue in Africa, with a 4 500-seat capacity, which was also modernised comprehensively.
The upgrade introduced ergonomic seating equipped with integrated charging ports, state-of-the-art acoustic systems, and advanced digital conferencing technology to meet the expectations of today’s hybrid event environment.
Enhancements by the group uphold HICC’s position as Zimbabwe’s leading venue for regional summits, international conventions, and high-level State engagements.
These developments come as its tour operations subsidiary Heritage Expeditions Africa (HEXA) is growing in its provision of services that include transfers by road and multilingual guides across Zimbabwe.
HEXA’s services also include heritage tours, game drives, quad biking, boat cruises and tailor-made private tours and activities. – Herald
