SHAMELESS and evil. This could best describe a 35-year-old Nkayi man who appeared in court yesterday accused of raping his 16-year-old daughter on two occasions between last year and April this year.
The man from Dlawa Village in Nkayi, who cannot be named to protect the victim’s identity, allegedly raped his daughter at their place of residence sometime last year and in April this year.
He denied the charges before Bulawayo regional magistrate, Mr Mark Dzira, claiming that the allegations were falsely fabricated against him. He will appear in court on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
According to the Prosecutor, Mr Jethro Mada, the allegations are that sometime last year the accused sent the complainant to his bedroom to collect some tobacco and she complied.
“The complainant complied and the accused followed her into the bedroom and removed her clothes, forced her to lie down facing upwards, and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent,” said Mr Mada.
The court heard that the accused then had sexual intercourse with the complainant several times without her consent.
Mr Mada told the court that on the second incident, which occurred during the period extending between end of April and early May, the complainant was cleaning the house when the accused got in and closed the door, undressed her, forced the complainant to lie down and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The matter came to light when the complainant confided to her aunt leading to the arrest of the accused person.
