ZANU-PF Youth League has warned divisive elements attacking senior party leadership at public rallies and social media to stop such acts, adding there is no space for factionalism and conduct that undermine the party.

This warning reflects a commitment to maintaining a united front and ensuring that all members adhere to the established party virtues.

In a statement, Zanu PF Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Tino Machakaire, warned that reckless use of hate speech, inflammatory statements and public grandstanding breeds confusion, undermines discipline and weakens the unity of the party.

The call follows incidents where some individuals criticised senior party members at public gatherings and on social media.

Cde Machakaire said that such conduct distracts the party from its historic mission of national transformation.

“The Youth League calls upon the party rank and file to be champions of peace and tranquillity. Where differences arise, members should resolve them maturely and strictly within established party structures.

“The reckless use of hate speech, inflammatory statements and public grandstanding only breeds confusion, undermines discipline and weakens the unity of the party,” said Cde Machakaire.

He challenged part members to draw inspiration from President Mnangagwa’s guiding mantra; “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo,/Ilizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo”.

The Youth League, he said reaffirmed its commitment to the politics of production and development.

He stressed that Zimbabwe cannot be built through hate speech, intolerance and disorder.

“Our revered leader believes in the politics of production and development, not in the unproductive politics of insults, division and noise” he noted.

Hate speech and factionalism, he said, are distractions that derail the revolutionary mission.

The Youth League as the vanguard of the party stands ready to defend the revolution, Cde Machakaire said.

“As the vanguard of the party, we declare our unshakable loyalty to the party and its leadership. The league positioned itself as disciplined defenders of party unity and loyal foot soldiers of the revolution.

“As the vanguard of Zanu PF, we will not sit idle while the name and values of our most revered party are tarnished by miscreants pursuing narrow self-interest,” said Cde Machakaire.
