HELL HATH NO FURY . . . like a borrower chased for loose change, and in Sizinda a simple follow-up over US$20 turned into a savage knife attack that nearly cost a woman her life.

Thandeka Ndlovu (23) stabbed her friend in the chest and neck for following up on payment for a US$20 debt.

She appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Archie Wochiwunga at the Tredgold courts where she was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to 26 months behind bars.

The court heard that on 16 November 2025, Agatha Chibuda of Cowdray Park went to Connanys Heights Flats to follow up on money she had lent Ndlovu.

Inexplicably, Ndlovu quickly exploded into violence.

Prosecutor Owen Mugari told the court that Ndlovu became aggressive and picked up a broomstick before launching a brutal assault.

“She assaulted the complainant several times with a broomstick until it broke,” said Mugari.
Not satisfied, Ndlovu stormed back into her room and returned armed with a pair of scissors.

In a shocking attack, she stabbed Chibuda on the chest and on the right side of the neck, leaving her bleeding and fighting for her life.

Neighbours rushed to the scene after hearing screams and Chibuda was taken to hospital where she received urgent medical treatment.

The magistrate described the attack as vicious and unnecessary, noting that the dispute was over a small amount of money.

Ndlovu was found guilty and sentenced to 26 months imprisonment.
