HARARE – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reassured citizens and visitors that comprehensive security measures have been put in place across the country to maintain peace, law, and order before, during, and after 17 October 2025.

In an official statement, the ZRP underscored its constitutional duty to safeguard lives, property, and vital infrastructure in all provinces. Commissioner-General of Police has reportedly instructed all officers to remain on high alert, ensuring that public safety and tranquillity remain the top priorities.

“The ZRP will continue to uphold peace and stability across the nation. Citizens are urged to go about their normal business with confidence,” the statement read. Schools, public transport, businesses, and government institutions are expected to operate as usual.

The police also cautioned the public against the spread of false information and intimidation on social media, warning that any acts of violence, vandalism, threats, or incitement to commit crime would attract swift and firm legal consequences.

Authorities further warned that any attempts to organise or participate in unlawful demonstrations, gatherings, or processions will be handled decisively in accordance with the law.

The ZRP urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities, threats, or disturbances affecting communities and economic operations to the nearest police station. Reports can also be made through the National Complaints Desk on 024 270 3631 or via WhatsApp on 071 280 0197.

The police reiterated their commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for all Zimbabweans and visitors during this period.
