A HARARE woman, who is battling breast cancer, is appealing for financial assistance to cater for her treatment saying high costs are weighing her down.

Bharbra Matarutse (44) who is being looked after by her six-year-old daughter told NewsDay that she needs in excess of US$300 for urgent medical attention.

She had been unwell since June last year after returning from South Africa in 2022.

“I have sought assistance in many places but all I could get is help that I was not looking for and my health kept deteriorating until I started going to Parirenyatwa Hospital.

“I am currently undergoing tests that need so much money. I have had X-rays, blood tests and biopsy but now need a CT scan and ultra-sound which cost more than US$300,” she said.

Matarutse said she was diagnosed of breast cancer in Johannesburg and underwent three chemotherapy sessions before quitting.

“I started pill therapy in 2020 before quitting again. Those that can assist me can use Mukuru or World Remit. I have been robbed of my money while my EcoCash has been suspended twice,” she said.

Those willing to assist can contact her on +26371 1453456.
