Zanu PF spokesperson Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa expressed the party’s delight and gratitude for the electorate’s continuous trust in the party’s policies under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.
“Congratulations to Dr Comrade Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and his electoral Team ZANU PF for the clean sweep of vote wins in both National Assembly and Local Govt by elections.
“It is even more pleasing that these by-election victories were in random and spread out geographic areas of Zimbabwe.
“His diligent performance in meeting the undertakings of the 2023 Party Manifesto keeps enchanting the electorate.
“Nothing succeeds like success on the part of the SADC Chairman. His policies and programmes are hitting on all the right and proper chords with the voters. This is giving a pertinent poignancy to the conventional adage that ZANU PF and the people of Zimbabwe are one.”
He further said the victory cemented ZANU PF dominance.
“The victory in the by-elections reaffirms the party’s dominant position in Zimbabwean politics, solidifying its representation in the National Assembly in which it now has well over a two-thirds majority,” he said.
Ambassador Mutsvangwa hailed the results as a testament to the party’s ever growing support and popularity.
“Zanu PF has once again shown its pedigree and popularity after resoundingly winning the Insiza North and Gutu East Parliamentary by-elections held on Saturday, in which it outclassed independent candidates who were funded by opposition forces led by Mr Nelson Chamisa,” said Ambassador Mutsvangwa.
He said the results were pleasing as they show the confidence that the people have in the ruling party.
“We are happy that even as it was a by-election, people still went out to go and vote in their numbers. They voted well, peacefully, which is something which is encouraged under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.
“We want to thank the electorate for the voting that they did and the confidence that they are still showing in the ruling party Zanu PF,’’ said Cde Mutsvangwa.
He highlighted that the winning streak was a continuation of victory from the general elections held in August 2033 elections
“We are doing better and better. Our manifesto was a track record of the Zanu PF Government’s deliverables in all spheres of the economy, be it in mining, manufacturing, agriculture among others. We scored highly in all those areas. Everyone wants to be associated with a winning team,” he said.
Zanu PF Secretary for Security Cde Lovemore Matuke confirmed that the victory for Zanu PF is due to signature projects being carried by President Mnangagwa in all spheres of the economy.
“The victory shows that the party is in the right direction due to signature projects being carried by the President.
“It was easy to campaign, the electorate are seeing tangible projects being carried by the Zanu PF led Government. This is why we are winning all the by- election,” said Cde Matuke who is also the Minister of State Security.
He further said the non-existence of opposition parties who are now fragmented also contributed to the revolutionary party’s victory.
