ACCREDITATION for delegates expected to attend the 23rd Zanu PF National People’s Conference in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West province begins this week.
The conference, set for October 12 to 17, will run under the theme: “From Resolutions to Results: Consolidating Economic Development and Deepening Empowerment Towards Vision 2030”.
Zanu PF Director for Information and Publicity Cde Farai Marapira confirmed that preparations for the conference are well on course, with accreditation of delegates having started in earnest.
“Accreditation of delegates attending the 23rd Zanu PF National People’s Conference has started well. The teams have been in the provinces accrediting members expected to attend this year’s 23rd National People’s Conference,” said Cde Marapira.
He said preparations for the conference in Chinhoyi are well ahead of time, with everything moving smoothly.
For the media, Cde Marapira highlighted that they are expected to submit a list of their members by Friday this week for security checks, with accreditation expected on Monday next week.
“Accreditation is ongoing, and we will begin to accredit the media next week. With the media, we’ve set a deadline to submit their names by the end of day on Friday,” he said.
“This is just one example showing that we’re doing everything thoroughly—we’re not rushing. The process continues as we streamline our approach to ensure everything is handled as professionally as possible.”
He said the conference is key in consolidating the party’s 2023 electoral mandate and comprehensively evaluating progress made under the Second Republic.
The gathering is expected to provide definitive direction on accelerating the country’s development goals.
“This is going to be a wonderful conference. People are upbeat and are looking forward to this get-together—celebrating our wins and planning for the year ahead under the leadership of President Mnangagwa,” he said.
Local and international companies are expected to exhibit at next month’s Zanu-PF Annual National People’s Conference, with more than 100 companies having already confirmed their participation.
“We also have a lot of business coming in to register for the Business Expo, and we are seeing even big companies registering for this year’s expo,” he said.
“Essentially we have very limited space left for the expo. So we encourage any other businesses that are willing to come and join the others in celebrating the wins under the leadership of President Mnangagwa and ZANU-PF to register as soon as possible so that we have a fully subscribed conference which reflects all walks of life, which reflects all aspects of our economy, all beliefs and every one of us.”
He indicated that 60 percent of the exhibition stands have already been taken up.
“Just from knowing that there will be an exhibition, companies have already started streaming in. So, we are expecting, once again this year, our exhibition area to be oversubscribed,” he said.
Due to the significant interest from various companies, the party has announced plans to extend the exhibition area.
“We are considering expanding our exhibition space because of the immense interest shown by different companies wishing to exhibit with us,” he said.
Cde Marapira advised that, as space is filling up quickly, companies should act promptly. The gathering is expected to consolidate national efforts towards reviving the country’s economy.
This is in line with President Mnangagwa’s aggressive pursuit of economic recovery through the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS 2).
NDS2 is Zimbabwe’s five-year economic blueprint for 2026 to 2030, designed to transition the nation into an upper middle-income society under Vision 2030.
The Government has focused on key themes such as macroeconomic stability, infrastructural development, human capital development, and devolution, with a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track progress.
